Moorebank Intermodal Precinct Project – Completion – Feburary 2019

TCE Contracting have completed the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct Project Services Removal Package. The project involved the excavation, removal and backfilling of over 120km of redundant services, to depths up to 10m deep. Additional redundant services infrastructure removed included 13 deep sewer pump stations and over 250 stormwater pits. This project was a milestone for TCE, and was a mammoth undertaking. 

At project peak there were 20 work faces, involving over 25 pieces of heavy plant, 60 ground personnel and 15 management personnel. Over 400,000m3 of material was excavated and backfilled, and over 50,000 tonnes of various materials recycled. Extensive clearing, grubbing and tub-grinding of over 2,500 large trees was required for project delivery. In delivering the project, TCE project staff collected, collated, audited and handed over extensive Quality Assurance for over 3,500 Lots. 

When asked about the delivery of the project, TCE Operations Manager, Mohammed Selim stated “The ability of TCE to adapt to the significant increase in project scope, and to deliver such a complex and multifaceted project, within an extremely tight deadlines and to the highest quality standards is a testament, not only to the skill and dedication of our personnel, but also to the outstanding capability of TCE Contracting as a whole – well done TCE!” 

The Moorebank Intermodal Precinct Project was awarded Best Remedial Project (>$1M) at the 2018 ALGA Annual Industry Excellence Awards, and is a finalist in the 2019 CCF Earth Awards for Excellence in Civil Construction (>$75M).
